Marianne has been in private practice for 21 years and is specialized in commercial litigation and all forms of dispute resolution. Marianne further has rights of appearance in the High Court of South Africa where she appeared on a regular basis. Marianne is an experienced and driven senior commercial attorney with expertise in international arbitration, dispute resolution, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, trade credit insurance and risk mitigation, mining and resources, freight clearing and forwarding, insolvency, business rescue and restructuring, and general advice on the interpretation of commercial agreements.
Marianne managed her own legal practice for 12 years, focusing on general litigation and dispute resolution in the High and Lower Courts. She sold her practice in Johannesburg, South Africa, in June 2020 in order to pursue her career in law on an international level in Dubai where her current position is as Of-Counsel (Head of Arbitration) at Dr. Mahmood Hussain Advocates & Legal Consultancy LLC (MHLF). One of the highlights of Marianne’s career was representing a major paper manufacturing entity in South Africa by appearing on their behalf in Parliament, being South Africa’s highest legislative authority, and to present reasons to the then pending Land Reform Legislation.
Marianne has also been admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
